Our Mission
Our Mission
Welcome to the Parkside Performing Arts Department! We are very excited to have you join our community. We believe that Arts education is integral to the development of well-rounded, confident, empathetic human beings.
In our program our goal is to facilitate personal growth, especially with students who may be nervous about performing. We strive to provide a nurturing and safe environment, in which, students are given the tools they need to become more confident.
We appreciate that each student’s situation is unique, and they will each come to our courses with different experiences, expectations, abilities and comfort levels. It is part of our curriculum mandate to both challenge and support students in their development of their self-confidence both when presenting alone to a group and when working with others. As you will no doubt appreciate these are core life skills that everyone will need after they leave high school.
When students achieve what they previously thought unattainable, their confidence in their ability grows and personal growth is our goal. We support each student individually to foster a safe environment for personal growth and improvement.
